Armagnac Cocktails:

Vieux Carre

If you love Manhattans or Old Fashioneds, it’s pretty safe to say you’re going to love this one, too.

The Vieux Carré is another classic cocktail from Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans: strong, very strong, and alcohol-forward – a true Wallbanger.

30 ml Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac VS
30 ml Horse With No Name Bourbon
30 ml Red vermouth
10 ml D.O.M. Bénédictine
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
1 pc. Lemon twist

Add Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac, Horse With No Name Bourbon, red vermouth, Bénédictine and bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Gascon Margarita

Why not trying something new, hey? An Armagnac-based Margarita, perhaps? Pairing Armagnac with aged tequila, lime, and orange liqueur makes for a seriously sophisticated drink. In fact, it tastes like a combination of a classic Sidecar and a Margarita!
(for two drinks)
60 ml Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac VS
30 ml Tequila silver
30 ml Triple sec
20 ml Sugar syrup
20 ml Lime juice
1 pinch Salt
1 pc. Lime wheel
Take a lime and cut it into fourths. Take one wedge and rub the rim of your glass with the juice of your lime.
Place the top of your glass in salt to rim and garnish your glass. Set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac, tequila, triple sec, sugar syrup and lime juice. Shake vigorously. Pour into a cocktail glass, garnish with a lime wedge.

Brandy Alexander

It’s sweet, but not too sweet. The simple recipe finds a perfect balance between just three
ingredients. It’s retro, but really timeless.
Only the hardest cases could resist the charms of this creamy, frothy delight. That’s a dare.
45 ml Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac VS
30 ml Dark crème de cacao
30 ml Cream
1 dash Grated nutmeg
Add Marquis de Montesquiou Armagnac, dark crème de cacao and cream into a shaker with
ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg
